Plumbers in Ely

June 16th, 2009 by alex

If you’re a plumber in Ely, there’s probably never been a better opportunity to find your customers on the web.

Last month over 100 people searched Google for “plumbers Ely” to discover a local tradesman.  They would have seen some general “find a tradesman” type of web sites, and maybe one or two sites from actual local plumbers.

Of course once the person who told Google they’re looking for a plumber has chosen a search result to click on, its up to that site to take that passive click and turn it into a lead for their plumbing business. That’s where even the few sites that do show up in the results aren’t doing it right yet. Whilst many in the plumbing trade might not want to publish their prices, they can still elicit an enquiry from the visitor by having a clear simple “call me back” form on their site, and even better by offering an immediate download of useful information - perhaps a report entitled “5 things to look for in a good plumber.”

If you were looking for a plumber and someone offered you the chance to download that report, would you do so?

If the report was genuinely valuable and gave you some new ideas, would you be greatful to the plumbing firm that gave it to you?

Would you consider using them next time you needed some your pipes fixed?

Its not rocket science!

I helped a friend get his plumbing website into Google quickly a while back, though he was in London, not Cambridgeshire. Regardless, there are so many opportunities for local businesses to get leads from the web at the moment, and building trades like plumbing are just the tip of the iceberg.
