IM Success Notes Down

November 10th, 2009 No Comments

I’m so sorry.
Here’s what happened:
When we set up ISVirtual we bartered a server from a business associate in return for setting up and maintaining a SugarCRM install for them.
I hosted IM Success Notes on this server as it was very over-spec and could deal with huge traffic spikes. (It had 4Gb of RAM and an [...]

August 26th, 2009 No Comments

I launched a new site yesterday at http://www.IMSuccessNotes.com
There you can download - for free - all the notes I took at the Bristol LFMpire Builders Workshop. It was focused on 2 things - traffic and conversion - so if you could use a boost in either department, you’ll almost certainly find something useful to you [...]

Surf Wars - new manual traffic exchange

June 14th, 2009 No Comments

My friend Neil Marsh has just launched http://www.surfwars.net - a Star Wars themed manual traffic exchange.
Offering a timer as low as 8 seconds, surf ratios right up to 1:1 and the chance to play for either the “Republic” or the “Empire” any Star Wars fan who surfs for credits would be silly to miss out on [...]

Grab your free “Clickbank Results” report

April 16th, 2009 No Comments

I just picked up the rights to this handy little report called Clickbank Results.
It goes further than your usual “get a product, pop it up on Click bank  and find some affiliates” and there’s some clever techniques for maximising the leverage of your sales.
I’ll set it up on its own domain and sell it soon, [...]

Twitter: Create “Tweet This” links and icons quickly

April 16th, 2009 No Comments

I just built a quick “Tweet This Generator” for Twitter users who have blogs (which is a lot!)
Its self-explanatory and couldn’t, I think, be any easier to use.
Its hardly rocket science, but if you want a “Tweet This” button or link to paste onto your site quickly, this does the job:

If you use it and [...]

Know your strengths, ignore your weaknesses

April 14th, 2009 1 Comment

OK that title sounds pretty blasé, and if your weakness was an inability to - for example - see, whilst driving at 70, perhaps it would be best not to ignore it totally.
No. What I actually meant was capitalise on your strengths, and capitalise on other people who can cover your weaknesses. This way you [...]

Want people to Tweet for you virally? Don’t ask for their password.

March 29th, 2009 1 Comment

More and more companies are catching on to the massive exposure that its possible to get through Twitter.
Some are using “bribes” to get people talking about their products and services.
Usually they use software like Viral Tweets to accomplish this.
Fine enough, but I don’t want to be handing over my Twitter password to all and sundry. [...]

How To Scale Your Web Technology For Product Launch - Lessons Learned From The Butterfly Marketing 2.0 Launch

March 25th, 2009 4 Comments

When the order link for the Butterfly Marketing 2.0 launch was emailed to Mike Filsaime’s “Early Bird” list yesterday, the BFM servers crashed pretty spectacularly. Ustream chatrooms were packed with unhappy punters jabbing the refresh button like woodpeckers - fearful they might miss the opportunity to be one of the first 5000 to grab what was undeniably [...]

The Money Is In The Relationship With The List

February 10th, 2009 No Comments

“The Money Is In The Relationship With The List”
Yesterday I credited this to Michael Cheney (and he did indeed say it.)
Well just now I came across Frank Kern’s Mass Control promo (which is now almost exactly one year old - the new buzz filling your inbox currently is Mass Control 2.0)
Turns out he said it [...]
