EDIT:
I just received this email from Planet Ocean:

We’ve recently learned that you are unhappy with our unsubscribe policy. While we are complying with all CAN-SPAM regulations by providing an email link to our customer service department, we understand that some users prefer an actual “unsubscribe” link. With that in mind, future mailings from Planet Ocean will now include an unsubscribe link to make it easier for recipients to opt out of our offers.
We hope you are enjoying your current subscription to SearchEngineNews.com. Please feel free to contact us directly if you have any questions or concerns in the future.
Aloha & Best Regards,
Kristi Hagen - VP

This is above-and-beyond stuff and very impressive. Way to go guys. :) I want to re-iterate that their product is excellent - I was only ever moaning about their lack of an unsubscribe link.
Now my original moany post:
I bought the Unfair Advantage to Winning the Search Engine Wars ebook years ago. I let my annual subscription lapse. More recently I re-subscribed, through work, to the service, (a small advantage to working for an agency that offers SEO services
)
I would like to unsubscribe from the “please come back” list. I can’t. Not one email I’ve ever received from them has an unsubscribe link. In fact the only link their emails tend to have on them say “go ahead and take a moment to reactivate your membership at…”
This is more than annoying, its illegal in the US. Can-Spam anyone? Quite besides that it makes what is actually a quality subscription product look shady. Its a shame and its terrible influence marketing. If someone asks me to recommend an SEO info product (and they do every now and then,) I can think of a pile of products of similar quality, some of them free, that don’t spam you.
Sort it out please Mr M.
