Its been fascinating over the last couple of days to see the online buzz take off over Chris Rempel and Dave Kelly’s new “Cracking the MSN Code” product. Whilst some affiliates have been glued to their TVs over the American election, others have been busy grabbing Virtual Real Estate (VRE) on this new product, which promises to fly to the top of the Clickbank Marketplace.
So what is this VRE and how does one grab it?
VRE is a word used, (by John Reese first I think,) to describe web properties which allow you to publish your content on their sites. The pro of grabbing VRE is you can quickly get multiple page 1 and 2 rankings for relatively uncompetitive keywords, and lock others out of doing so. The con is they’re on someone else’s site and you can’t guarantee they won’t “switch you off”.
Popular VRE destinations are:
squidoo.com
hubpages.com
Google Pages
Blogger
Wordpress.com
Article directory sites
You can “turbo charge” your VRE efforts with Social Linking activity - by adding your VRE pages to Digg and Technorati for example. Read the http://www.authorityblackbook.com/ for a world of solid information on this technique.
There’s about half a dozen Clickbank affiliates currently building VRE for the MSN Ranking Loophole (me included.)
There are articles on Goarticles.com, free blogs, squidoo and hubpages. More committed affiliates (me not included!) have bought domains related to the product and set up Wordpress blogs there for quick rankings. Whilst the individual blog posts and VRE destinations were taking the top 5 in Google a couple of days ago, now the more serious affiliates are getting involved, the dedicated domains are knocking the VRE off the top spots. Remember these are fire & forget though, so I’d expect to see commissions trickling in (and I mean trickling!) for months or even years to come.
For me the most interesting point though has been the lack of original content. Yes I know its a pain to actually write stuff, but original content performs -so- much better in the SE’s, and of course people might actually read it!
Its also been interesting to see the various bonuses that people have started to offer to accompany the MSN Ranking Loophole product. Whilst some affiliates are giving away some pretty generic dusrty old ebooks, others are giving away videos and one is offering tailored keyword lists - which seems a perferct companion to the product.
The lessons?
1) VRE is handy but real sites win. Both is even better.
2) Relevant bonuses are worth searching out if you’re buying a popular Clickbank Product.

If you go through this link, discover a handy bonus and clear your cookies, I’ll live.
By the way - first black F1 champion and US President in the same week? Stack me if the world isn’t growing up!
